The creation of a Sailing Team for offshore sailing means that for the first time in Spain a sporting project will be undertaken and managed as a company. Offshore sailing has traditionally been the personal initiative of a sailor or boat owner, however the Sailing Team is unique as the creation of a team to support the sailor and allow the individual to focus on the sports programme itself. The organisation, structure, logistics, and sponsorship roles for example are undertaken by a group of experts in each department to work towards the main objectives of the team.

The Sailing Team will develop a number of projects that will be linked so each part interacts to the benefit of the team, and is specific for each of the categories and classes in competition. A well-known comparison would be a motor racing team competing in each category: 125 cc, 250 cc and motor GP. It is the natural progression of the motorbike pilot’s career, and it is precisely this focus and objective that the Sailing Team offers with a number of different boats to compete in world racing circuits.

A project of such magnitude clearly involves an important financial backing and thus the role of the sponsor is fundamental. The world of yacht racing has grown and now seen as a highly-profitable investment for the image and promotion of companies and institutions; as has been demonstrated in a number of countries and particularly offshore sailing, for the amazing interest and massive following it receives with media coverage reaching an ever-increasing audience.
